About CIAL Maintenance Management System

The CIAL Maintenance Management System brings the maintenance of Cochin International Airport's systems and infrastructure into one platform. CIAL engineers, supervisors and AMC partners use it to plan work, record what was done and keep every asset in safe, working order.

Preventive maintenance & AMCs

Schedule and record preventive maintenance for every annual maintenance contract, from fire and electrical to baggage handling and security screening systems.

Maintenance requests

Raise breakdown and corrective requests, assign them to the right team and follow each job through to closure.

Assets & QR codes

Keep a single register of airport assets, scan QR tags in the field and carry out periodic asset verification and location inspections.

Shift reports & attendance

Log shift handovers, daily maintenance work and staff attendance, with dashboards showing the status of every contract.

Helpdesk & requests

Handle hardware, software and change requests through the helpdesk, and manage spares through store management.

Mobile app

Engineers and contractors complete checklists, update jobs and get notifications from the field using the mobile app.

About CIAL

Cochin International Airport, owned and operated by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), is the first airport in India built under Public Private Partnership (PPP). It is the world's first fully solar-powered airport.

Located 28 km northeast of Kochi, it ranks as the third busiest airport in India for international passengers and handles 61.8% of Kerala's air passenger movement. The airport began operations on 25 May 1999 and has three terminals: domestic, international and India's first Business Jet Terminal.

Powered by the sun

In 2015, Cochin International Airport became the world's first fully solar-powered airport. CIAL's solar plants now generate around 2 lakh units of power a day against a daily consumption of 1.6 lakh units, making the airport power positive.

For this initiative, CIAL won the United Nations' Champions of the Earth award in 2018, the UN's highest environmental honour.
